Dan Shwarzman

Dan has been a leader in the global healthcare technology industry for over 20 years, with experience spanning Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. to Israeli startups.

Prior to establishing embARC Ventures, Dan was the CEO and co-founder of MindUP, Israel’s first digital health incubator and a joint venture of Medtronic, IBM, Pitango VC and Rambam Medical Center, and in collaboration with the Israel Innovation Authority. MindUP funded, supported and nurtured 15 early-stage innovative digital health ventures.

​Prior positions include CEO and President of Virtual Ports Inc., General Manager (EndoTool Clinical Decision Support Business Unit) and Director of Strategic Marketing for Hospira Worldwide, Inc., and senior positions at Johnson & Johnson (Ethicon and Ethicon EndoSurgery) and LifeWatch, Inc. He also enjoyed a 13-year career as an intelligence officer in the Israel Defense Forces.

​Dan is a member of the prestigious 8400 Health Network that aims to leverage Israel’s human and digital assets in the healthtech industry to accelerate global cure and build a powerful growth engine. He is also a Board member of the Israeli Society for HealthTech that aims to advance the integration of innovation and healthcare entrepreneurship into medical practice and across traditional health professions, to benefit patients and improve quality of care.

​Dan is also a fellow of the Gesher Leadership Institute that aims to promote dialogue and co-existence between different sectors of the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora.

​Dan holds a Master’s in Business Administration, with Honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor of the Arts, Cum Laude, in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Haifa, Israel.
